The average price per gallon of diesel gasoline fell 2 cents to $2.992 per gallon, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
This snaps a streak of seven straight weeks of the average coming in above the $3 per gallon mark. And the average price per gallon has seen consecutive declines over the past four weeks going back to the week of February 5, falling 9.4 cents during that time.
Compared to the same week a year ago, the average price per gallon is up 41.3 cents.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up $1.32 at $62.57.
