The national average price per gallon for diesel gasoline saw a 1-cent increase this week to $3.268 per gallon, according to data issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
This is the fourth straight week the price has seen an increase, following gains of 0.6 cents, 0.26 cents, and 1.9 cents, respectively, over the previous three weeks.
On an annual basis, the average price per gallon is up 47.7 cents.
West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is currently trading at $68.71 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, which is ahead of last week’s average of $67.54.
The EIA’s Short-Term Energy Outlook pegs the average prices for diesel to be $3.15 and $3.11 in 2018 and 2019, respectively, with WTI a $66.21 and $64.34 for the same period.
