The trend of rising weekly diesel prices remains intact, with the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) reporting this week that the average price per gallon of diesel gasoline increased 1 cent to $2.914 per gallon.
This increase represents the sixth straight weekly increase, during which span prices have risen a cumulative 16 cents. And it is also the second time the average weekly price has topped $2.90 per gallon since hitting $2.917 per gallon the week of March 16.
On an annual basis, the average price per gallon is 90 cents lower compared to the same period a year ago.
The average price of a barrel of oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange was trading at $58.03 at press time.
