The ongoing weekly increases of the average weekly price per gallon of diesel gasoline, remained intact this week, with the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) reporting that the average price per gallon increased for the fifth straight week, rising 2.6 cents to $2.904 per gallon.
This represents the first time the average weekly price has topped the $2.90 per gallon mark since hitting $2.917 per gallon the week of March 16.
Over the last five weeks, diesel has increased a cumulative 15 cents, with the current price $1.03 below its levels for the same week a year ago.
The average price of oil is currently at $59.43 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
