Domenick Iellimo, executive vice president of Frazier Industrial (Booth 9331) showcased the company’s ergonomic Glide ‘N Pick order selector rack in a press conference Monday.
“The solution is engineered to make pallet-based case picking easier for pickers by making hard-to-reach cases on the pallet accessible,” he said.
Acting as sliding drawer, the cart-based device can be pulled forward for access to cases stored on the back half of the pallet. A locking mechanism prevents the cart from rolling into the aisle until the pallet has been unloaded by roughly 50%, Iellimo said.
“The same latch prevents the cart from sliding back into the rack should a picker lean against it,” he added.
Installed directly on existing shelf beams, the unit is manufactured entirely of structural steel. It also incorporates a spring-loaded backrest to prevent the pallet’s contents from falling off the back of the rack.
