Now that LM is a few weeks into its new life as part of Peerless Media/EH Publishing, I thought it would be a good time to revisit some previous blog postings from the “old days.”
Ok, so old days is clearly an exaggeration, considering that the Newsroom Notes blog did not exist prior to slightly more than two months ago. In any event, one old blog post particularly caught my eye, and I thought it would be a good time to basically re-purpose it as today’s post. In short, this re-purposed post is a note from me, the editor/blogger, to you, the reader/supply chain or logistics professional, to let you know that, well, I want to hear from you.
What do I want to hear? Pretty much anything that you think merits a news story, blog topic or feature idea, among others. Our mission is to provide you with market-leading editorial, and the more feedback/input/advice we get from you, the better we are-and will become—at getting you the content you want and need.
Consider the activity that takes place in our industry on any given day at any given time. Things happen—and they usually happen very quickly to say the least. It is crazy how much is going on, what with HOS and Green legislation, freight volumes trending up, a potential re-regulation of the railroad industry, and and a LOT of other things, which you may be following or have read about in the pages of LM or on http://www.logisticsmgmt.com.
Anyhow, you may be thinking, “Geez, Jeff, tell me something I don’t know.” But that is it, I want and need to know what you know so I can deliver the goods in our pages and on our Web site. I am not the one in the trenches like you, our readers, on a daily basis, trying to make sure a shipment reaches its destination in a timely and safe manner, which is also cost-efficient, too. I am on the sidelines doing my best to gauge what is happening and hopefully get the story right the first time. But in order for that to happen, I invite you to let me know what you see occurring in the marketplace and what you think are the most important issues you are facing at any given time.
That said, please do not hesitate to let me know if you think there is a story or issue, I should be or need to be chasing. Comment on on this blog or send an e-mail to [email protected] or pick up the phone and call me at 508-808-9553. Those who know me or have met me before fully know I am not afraid of a good conversation!
