Interroll Atlanta Announces New Manufacturing and Distribution Facility

Company announces grand opening ahead of Modex 2014 in Atlanta.

Interroll, a worldwide provider of products and solutions for internal logistics, is opening its all-new, 100,000-square-foot Regional Center of Excellence in Hiram, Ga., on March 16, 2014.

The facility will manufacture dynamic storage, modules and subsystems that will drive operations in distribution facilities throughout the Americas. Initially, the facility will employ 40 people in the Hiram area with the total approaching 100 employees.

Interroll‘s new facility will serve customers, including Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, Procter & Gamble, Amazon.com, Inc; UPS and Frito-Lay, with market-focused product lines and engineering support.

“Interroll is extremely proud of its new manufacturing and showroom facility, which will make Interroll even faster and more flexible in serving customers throughout North and South America,” said Tim McGill, president of North and South American operations, Interroll. “The investment reinforces our commitment to this key strategic market and will enhance overall customer satisfaction for all of our key customer groups.”

Interroll started its activities in the U.S. market in Port Washington, N.Y., in 1968. In 1990 the company shifted its production facility for rollers, RollerDrives and drum motors to Wilmington, North Carolina. Interroll also serves the North American market with its subsidiaries in Canada and is active in the South American market with its subsidiary in São Paulo, Brazil. In June 2013, Interroll acquired Portec Inc., a leading provider of belt curves in Cañon City, Colorado, enhancing Interroll’s global product range and opening up new application fields for its customers worldwide.

“Interroll’s commitment to bring its first U.S. manufacturing presence to metro Atlanta and Paulding County is a significant recognition of Atlanta’s worldwide logistics ranking and our superior supply chain infrastructure,” said Matthew Patterson, director of supply chain and advanced manufacturing at the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
