INTTRA collaborates with JDA Software to offer ocean cargo shippers more options

In a move coinciding with increased ocean shipping complexity, INTTRA has announced that it will collaborate with JDA Software Group Inc. to offer shippers a more transparent management system.

Under the new agreement, JDA customers will gain access to INTTRA’s full offering of ocean shipping software, data and services, affording them the advantages of digitization on a single platform.

Inna Kuznetsova, President of INTTRA Marketplace, noted that the functionality of JDA Transportation Management software allows customers to control costs, streamline productivity and maximize efficiencies.

“Those same objectives are at the heart of INTTRA’s service offering,” she added.

The announcement comes as implementation of Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) verified gross mass (VGM) regulations will add yet more complexity to the troubled global ocean container industry.

Already facing issues ranging from overcapacity, downward pricing pressure, and more brand consolidation, carriers must now confront shipper’s concerns about regulatory mandates that will likely result in more seaport congestion.

INTTRA and JDA are joining forces at a time when INTTRA is experiencing rapid growth in its container volume, which was up 12% in a year of much slower growth for the market.  The company’s overall share of container volume has grown from 22% in 2014 to 24% in recent months.
