With limited skilled workforce availability at the manufacturing, service and technician levels, Lenze Americas (Booth 2147) has been working on creating new products that address those gaps, said Joel Thomas, industry manager of intralogistics.
“The reality is that the materials handling world is seeing a lot of vacancies and open positions, meaning there’s less available manpower out in the field,” he said. “So we’re providing products that can self-assess their operation, as well as be more easily commissioned and serviced much faster.”
In addition to a lineup of new products easier for customers to use, maintain and update, Lenze is also showcasing the new m550-P three-phase AC motor range. The motor meets domestic and international (IE3) energy efficiency standards that go into effect on June 1, plus reduces energy loss and costs by up to 20%, Thomas added.
“Bigger is not always better when it comes to efficiency. This new motor delivers IE3 efficiency with minimal jumps in size when compared with IE2 motors, meaning that—in general—it could be a drop-in replacement,” he added.
