Mexico’s former President to keynote CSCMP’s annual conference in Denver

Calderón to share perspectives on how to ensure that countries forge economic ties amid challenges.

Felipe Calderón, former president of Mexico, will be the opening general session speaker at the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ (CSCMP) 2013 Annual Global Conference, October 20-23 in Denver, Colorado. In his keynote address titled Expansion, Innovation, and Transformation: What It Takes to Lead, President Calderón will share his perspectives on how to ensure that countries continue to forge economic ties and overcome challenges that may exist.

A leader who helped launch Mexico into the 21st century and improve its competitiveness in the global sphere, President Calderón established himself as a powerful leader who could get things done. Named one of TIME magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World,” he confronted issues head on to elevate Mexico to a global powerhouse. In this presentation, he will offer key insights into strategic policymaking and implementing long-term solutions in an interdependent world.

“The supply chain profession is critical to organizations around the world, as well as to countries and their economies,” said Rick Blasgen, president and chief executive officer of CSCMP. “Managing trade between Mexico and the world is crucial to the success of all. President Calderón is a dynamic world leader with a proven track record of stabilizing his country’s economy after the Great Recession and creating solutions to the pressing challenges that faced Mexico. His message will be one that every supply chain management professional will want to hear.”

CSCMP’s Annual Global Conference is the largest of its kind for the supply chain management profession, offering innovative solutions and actionable outcomes that attendees will be able to take back to their companies to improve their supply chains’ performance. The event attracts more than 3,000 practitioners, educators, and thought leaders from around the world. More than 100 educational sessions are planned.

Attendees who register before June 30 will receive $300.00 US off the regular registration rates.
