Modex 2014: MHI’s young professionals network hosts networking event

On Tuesday at Modex 2014 (March 18), MHI’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) will host a Meet and Greet networking reception in Room 302 of the Georgia World Congress Center’s Hall B. The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Open to current and prospective members of the group, pre-registration is not required. Hors d’oeuvres will be served, along with a selection of wine and beers.

The YPN group—whose mission is to provide resources and programming to professionals who wish to advance their careers in the industry—launched in January 2013. Open to anyone in the fields of materials handling, logistics and supply chain, the group has generated a lot of interest since its inception, said Devon Birch, MHI’s director of membership and YPN coordinator.

“Since our debut, the YPN group has hosted several events—including webinars, in-person networking at MHI’s Annual Conference, and a partnership with the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) for the Emerging Leaders Conference,” says Birch. “We will be co-sponsoring the Emerging Leaders Conference again on July 31, 2014 in Chicago, as well as several other events throughout the year.”
