ODFL, Mallory Alexander International team up for ocean forwarding alliance

Less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL) and third-party logistics (3PL) services provider Mallory Alexander International Logistics LLC recently announced they have joined hands in a strategic alliance, which is geared to augment ODFL’s ocean forwarding offering.

The companies said that through this partnership, Mallory, which is a duly licensed ocean transportation intermediary, will handle all ocean forwarding, back-office, and operational services, with ODFL serving as Mallory’s sales agent.

ODFL has had ocean forwarding and NVOCC operations since 2007.

ODFL and Mallory officials told LM that at the core of every service offering the companies offer is the customer.

“Providing the very best service we can is what a premium value proposition is all about, they said.  “Ocean freight forwarding is just one of the products in the OD-Global suite of services.  So for OD, as they looked strategically at their ocean freight forwarding service they wanted to enhance it via enhanced the technology and service experience in the ocean freight forward arena.  Working with Mallory Alexander offered OD the experience, systems and network to accomplish that strategic objective.”

Mallory Alexander President Neely Mallory said in a statement that this partnership allows his company to expand its service offering across a wider horizon with
the premier LTL carrier in the industry, adding that Mallory expects it will be mutually beneficial, expanding each of its businesses and enabling Mallory to provide its best-in-class services to even more customers across the globe.”

ODFL and Mallory also noted that the entire world is now available to Old Dominion’s customer base with respect to global shipping and that Mallory’s network and more than 90 years of experience in the forwarding market, coupled with Old Dominion’s 80-plus years of experience in domestic LTL service, offers customers a solution for any of their global supply chain needs.
