Premier Tech today announced the acquisition of the vonGAL Corporation, as of June 29, 2012. Located in Montgomery, Alabama, vonGAL delivers quality, reliable, and high-performance conventional palletizer solutions to diversified industries, including baking, bottling, brewing, paint, pet food, and publishing.
With this acquisition, Premier Tech’s Industrial Equipment Group (IEG) integrates the renowned expertise of some 80 skilled team members to its existing team of 500 people. This transaction also strengthens IEG’s position as a North American leader in the field of rigid packaging. Already involved at many levels with end-of-line applications for robotic picking, packing and palletizing and load securing (stretch wrapping and hooding), this move adds another leg to IEG’s commercial offering to the marketplace.
This second manufacturing facility in the U.S. adds to the existing four plants IEG has in North America.
Founded in 1957, the vonGAL Corporation is backed by a long and respected material handling legacy offering decades of systems solutions, software quality, unmatched experience, exceptional technology and financial strength. Among their lines, they feature low-cost, low-speed palletizing technologies up to the very high speed, upwards of 200 units per minute. Over the years, vonGAL has put a total of 5,000 palletizers in the field, where most likely half of these are still in operation today. vonGAL has helped Fortune 500 companies, as well as emerging ones, to automate, grow, and optimize their position in the supply chain. The brand is recognized nationally and well known in the industry. As vonGAL’s culture and business philosophy is a perfect match with Premier Tech’s own culture and approach to the market, it will expand IEG’s commercial offer.
“This acquisition is in line with Premier Tech’s five-year strategic planning which aims at increasing its market penetration in its various segments and territories, while increasing its capabilities in terms of project scope and support to its customer base,” said Jean Bélanger, President and Chief Operating Officer of Premier Tech.
