Packsize International signs reseller agreement with System

Packsize obtains rights to market the high-volume Freebox automated packaging system, extending its ability to meet the labor-intensive demands of the fulfillment sector worldwide.

On Demand Packaging manufacturer and technology provider Packsize International together with System, an industrial automation company based in Italy, have announced that Packsize has obtained the rights to market the high-volume Freebox automated packaging system. Through the agreement, Packsize will add the Freebox machine to its On Demand Packaging product offering, beginning January 2014.

Freebox is an entirely automated, high-volume machine that uses continuous sheet-fed corrugated. The machine’s size is 24 feet long by 12.5 feet wide and 6.5 feet tall. The Freebox system uses flat corrugated to create made-to-measure boxes with customized printing in real time for every kind of product. With the Freebox system, customers derive many On Demand Packaging benefits such as less corrugated waste, a minimized need for filler materials, optimized warehouse space, reduced labor, reduced product damage, and increased customer satisfaction.

“The Freebox packaging system aligns very well with Packsize’s core values and packaging philosophies surrounding sustainability,” said Packsize CEO Hanko Kiessner. “The agreement appropriately extends our On Demand Packaging product line to meet the high-volume, labor-intensive demands of the high-end fulfillment market sector.”

Commenting on the joint partnership’s ability to improve the competitive position and increase sales opportunities for both companies, System president Franco Stefani said: “Packsize International’s market leadership is in On Demand Packaging. The business model of our packaging division is to sell machines. High-end fulfillment customers are trending toward more automation. By combining these factors, it’s easy to see that a high-volume distribution facility outfitted with Packsize On Demand Packaging converting machines and a Freebox system will best address these customers’ redundancy and peak performance operational issues efficiently and cost-effectively.”

The Packsize On Demand Packaging network-wide solution will incorporate both Packsize Freebox and iQ Fusion machines, all integrated with proprietary software developed by Packsize.
