In an effort to highlight its expanded reach, Purolator Courier Ltd. said this week it has changed its official name to Purolator Inc. and Purolator USA is now Purolator International.
Company officials said this name change reflects how the company has expanded its service coverage from ten to 20 markets in the United States and delivering to more postal codes in Canada as well. And they added that it shows how Purolator has transitioned from a “courier company to a comprehensive logistics service provider focused on delivering Canada fully and sustainably, leveraging the full range of its multi-modal capabilities.”
Purolator President John Costanzo said in an interview that as Canada’s largest logistics company, Purolator’s previous legal name did not reflect its wide selection of services. And he added that this name change will not change how Purolator provides services to shippers.
When asked why Purolator USA is changing its name to Purolator International, he said that it reflects how the company is “continuing to develop our international markets, this element of our name change is a reflection of the global growth envisioned for our organization beyond North American borders.”
With Purolator expanding into ten additional U.S. markets, coupled with plans to grow internationally, he said that further communication will be made once the specifics of this expansion are available.
Purolator provides shippers with various services, including automated solutions, 24 hour pick up and delivery focused on moving parcel and freight shipments globally and locally. It uses Canada’s largest dedicated air express fleet and has an extensive service network, with more than 120 operations locations, more than 140 Shipping Centers, more than 550 authorized Shipping Agents and more than 350 drop boxes, handling close to 1.1 million pieces daily, according to company officials, and Purolator International specializes in forwarding and delivering the products of companies based outside Canada to, from, and within the Canadian market.
