The truckload (TL) business is volatile by nature. Freight demand spikes and falls with fickle customer demands as well as the normal cyclicality and seasonality of business. As our John Schulz recently reported, the past three years have been even more volatile.
“Coming out of the 2008-2009 recession in which many TL carriers idled thousands of trucks, the sector has slowly rebuilt capacity to where it was six years ago,” says Schulz. “Where it goes from here is anyone’s guess.”
The one thing LM readers say they do know is that that these 36 carriers have offered world-class service this year.
