St. Onge appoints John M. Hill new director

The St. Onge Company has announced that John M. Hill has joined the company as a Director who will focus on manufacturing, distribution and warehousing systems and operations.


The St. Onge Company has announced that John M. Hill has joined the company as a Director who will focus on manufacturing, distribution and warehousing systems and operations.

Hill is a former COO/CEO and officer of automatic data collection and supply chain execution systems firms with more than 100 successful AIDC (bar code, RFDC & RFID), warehouse equipment and warehouse (WMS) and transportation management (TMS) systems installations. He has also led consulting engagements including logistics strategy assessment, requirements analysis and development of specifications, supplier selection, training and coordination of material handling, data collection and warehouse/ transportation management system implementations. His client list includes top international corporations such as Coca-Cola, Commonwealth Aluminum, CSX Corporation, Ford Motor Company, GE, General Motors, the Gillette Company, Hewlett-Packard, the Keebler Company, Land O’Lakes Purina Feed, Pepsi Bottling and many others.

“John is an expert in supply chain strategy, network and operations performance optimization, process and systems design, and the selection and deployment of automatic data collection and warehouse technology and systems,” said St. Onge Company VP and Principal, Bryan Jensen. “He is simply the best of the best, and we eagerly look forward to him making a significant contribution to St. Onge.”

Hill is a former president of the Material Handling Education Foundation Inc. and the Material Handling Institute Inc. He is a retired member of the Board of Governors and Roundtable member of the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) and co-founder of MHIA’s Supply Chain Execution Systems & Technologies and Integrated Systems & Controls groups.

He is the recipient of the 1997 Norman L. Cahners and 2004 Reed-Apple awards for contributions to the U.S. material handling industry.

Hill has been widely published in trade and professional journals in the U. S. and overseas and has conducted over 350 seminars and presentations for academia, corporate clients, and trade and professional societies in North and Latin America, Europe, Asia and Australia. He was also a former faculty member of Georgia Tech’s Supply Chain & Logistics Institute.
