Storage Solutions grows west to serve customers in seismically active region

Leading U.S. industrial storage and material handling equipment provider expands with new warehouse and office in California.

Storage Solutions, one of the world’s largest sources of industrial storage and material handling equipment, has announced a major expansion into the Western region of the U.S. with a new office in Ontario, Calif.

In addition to a new office, Storage Solutions has also opened a regional 50,000 square-foot distribution center in nearby Montebello, Calif. Storage Solutions’ new office is strategically located in Ontario, in the heart of Southern California’s fast-growing Inland Empire in Riverside County. The new warehouse and distribution center will house a complete inventory of major brand products, including pallet racks, shelving, mezzanines, wire decking, cantilever and carton flow racks, pick modules, conveyors and more.

The employee-owned company, headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., supplies customers nationwide and in countries such as Canada, Mexico, Australia and Puerto Rico. The westward expansion brings Storage Solutions’ total physical presence to nearly 400,000 square feet of warehouse space, in addition to its corporate headquarters and four national sales offices in Kansas City, Minneapolis, Nashville and Los Angeles.

“This is the ideal location for our company’s expansion in an area that offers tremendous growth potential,” said Kevin Rowles, Storage Solutions’ president. “We will be able to provide our customers in the western region with enhanced support in all aspects of their projects, including layout and design of warehousing, new and used equipment, project management, installation and post-install services.”

Both Los Angeles and Riverside counties offer more than a billion square feet of industrial manufacturing and distribution space, and are located in the hub of the area’s huge network of transportation serving the entire western region.

The news of Storage Solutions’ move was welcomed by Ontario Mayor Paul S. Leon who said: “The Ontario City Council has developed a comprehensive economic development strategy to ensure the growth of existing business and the welcoming of new business and jobs into the community. Ontario continues to be home to a vast, diverse network of business entities that choose Ontario as a result of our economic stability, transportation infrastructure, central location, strong leadership and clear vision of business success.”
