Storopack acquires CleanPak

The acquisition encompasses loose fill manufacturing and distribution, as well as several other redistribution products, including bubble wrap, bubble-lined mailers and rolled foam.

Storopack, a manufacturer and marketer of protective packaging solutions, recently acquired the industrial packaging business of CleanPak Products in Tampa, Florida. The acquisition encompasses loose fill manufacturing and distribution, as well as several other redistribution products, including bubble wrap, bubble-lined mailers and rolled foam. The move strengthens Storopack’s market position in Florida and in the United States as most complete manufacturer and supplier of equipment-based and non-equipment-based protective packaging solutions.

Storopack representatives, with support from CleanPak’s owner and president, George Brydon, worked through a smooth and seamless transition and an uninterrupted supply of protective packaging products. “Our distributors and customers in the Florida region will see virtually no change in their dealings,” said Joe LaGrasta, Vice President of Storopack in the USA. “In fact, they will soon be capitalizing on the increased opportunities, offerings and efficiencies this acquisition brings.”

Storopack offers distributors in Florida innovative equipment-based products as well as non-equipment-based products manufactured in the region, such as MAILERplus Bubble Envelopes and Bubbleplus Bubble Packaging Wrap.

“Being close to our customers is a real advantage when it comes to ready-for-use protective packaging, in order to deliver both high quality and attractive solutions,” explained LaGrasta.

In line with this strategy, Storopack initiated a partnership with Action Corrugated Supply and Specialty Converting in Florida earlier this year. Effective April 1, Storopack acquired majority interest in these two firms, which are now combined into one company called Action Specialty Packaging.

This transaction made Storopack a partner with Andrew Schulman who continues to act as Managing Partner. Action Specialty serves the Florida market with single-face corrugated and paper rolls as well as corrugated boxes, bubble wrap and mailers manufactured in Opa-Loka and Tampa.

This new partnership combines Storopack’s current range of non-equipment-based protective packaging in Florida with Action Specialty’s core products – opening up new joint business opportunities in and outside Florida. “The partnership will enable Storopack to even better serve its distributors and customers in these key business areas and to further develop business opportunities in the Florida market and beyond”, commented Daniel Wachter, President of Storopack North America.
