Freight transportation and logistics services provider Averitt Express said today it expanding its flatbed operations.
In recent months, Averitt has provided shippers with flatbed service in several markets, including Birmingham, Ala.; Atlanta, Ga.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Louisville, Ky.; and Nashville, Tenn.
These services are being expanded due to increased customer demand, according to Averitt spokesman Chris Asberry.
Averitt Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Phil Pierce said in a statement that the company is excited about the success it has seen thus far on the flatbed side, and is planning for more growth in the future.”
Since the flatbed service was first rolled out, it has grown from a 12-flatbed trailer operation to a current fleet of more than 50 flatbeds, with about 50 additional flatbeds on order.
Through this expansion, Averitt said it is currently hiring regional flatbed drivers in several locations.
