Zebra announces new ultra-rugged scanner series

Re-engineered for durability and productivity, Zebra Technology’s (Booth 2127) latest 3600 scanner line offers several new features as well as enhanced management capabilities.

Re-engineered for durability and productivity, Zebra Technology’s (Booth 2127) latest 3600 scanner line offers several new features as well as enhanced management capabilities.

Offered in corded and cordless 1D and 2D versions, the scanners are built to withstand 8-foot drops and submersion in water for up to 30 minutes. The cradles are IP65-rated for use in hose-down environments.

Hot-swappable and rated for three shifts, the batteries communicate charge status to users and also relay per-battery data to a central database for reporting, monitoring and management throughout the battery lifecycle.

Zebra also showcased its new TC8000 mobile computer, a completely redesigned solution built for ergonomics and productivity. Weighing 33% less than traditional models, the computer’s user-facing screen eliminates the need to tilt and verify each scan. A proximity mode also supports voice-directed hands-free scanning from a holster. Featuring a simultaneous scanning function, the computer can capture several bar codes at once as well as images of signatures and other information. The TC8000’s camera is ready to support the development of augmented reality applications for system-directed inventory management and navigation.

Zebra also highlighted its Zatar “chip-to-cloud” IoT service capable of compiling real-time data from fixed and mobile locations, such as end-to-end cold chain temperature monitoring. Users can set thresholds for notifications about product-specific conditions and proactively address any deviations. Accessibly by Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, the fixed and self-contained sensors enable traceability, compliance and easy auditing.

Modex 2016 is scheduled to be held April 4-7, 2016 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Conference Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex coverage.
