Hong Kong Port Losing It's Place as Leader as other Ports Increase in Size

It's been coming for a while now, but Hong Kong has been eclipsed by Shanghai as the world's busiest and Shenzhen is not far from over taking it as well. With the emergence of Shanghai as China's new manufacturing center and the improved operations and scale in Hong Kong's southern based rival, Shenzhen, port officials are struggling to develop a strategy for the Hong Kong port that will keep it relevant and viable as it is overtaken in tonnage and container throughput. There may be a focus on higher end/higher value logistics services in the port of Hong Kong's future. See the article.
