Work, work, WERC
While there’s been a a lot written about what it takes to be “great” in this business, few metrics have been established to measure this elusive quality. Our sister publication – Supply Chain Management Review – reached for that goal late last year by conducting a survey with CSC Consulting and Michigan State University titled: Diagnosing Greatness: Common Traits of the Top Supply Chains.
We shared our findings at a session staged at the Warehouse Educational Research Council’s (WERC) annual convention in Chicago last week, and it was refreshing to get such positive feedback. The quest for reliable metrics is one that will only become more intense as the economic cycle on its downward path. But once we see a turnaround, companies with honest benchmarks in place will be ready to reap the rewards.
Were you at WERC? Please share your reflections, opinions, and impressions with us.
