Loose Change - A concept
Loose Change? What is this Loose Change? How about Loose Cannon on Deck? Shoot, Bang, Change, Change, Change. Change or Die!
Sometime it is a lot of fun to be an agent of change, and sometimes it is not. If you are not willing to change, then you will feel like a bug, dodging those big shiny things that keep going by on the road. It is more fun to be the driver. It sucks to be the bug.
But what if you are riding a motorcycle? You learn to keep your mouth shut, or learn to enjoy the taste of exotic protein.
Change is adapting to new rules, new environments, new ideas. Change can be just survival. Or, Change become much more. Change can become a way of life, that you relish the sometime hellish opportunity to change yourself, to lead others to change, to make change happen.
When you reach that plateau where making change happen becomes a joy, or at least a little pleasure, you become an agent of change. I am an agent of change. I know of what I speak. Change means growth. Growth means life. Life is good.
But why "Loose Change"? There are too many anal people who have to "be in control", so much that they choke off change before it has a chance to grow. For successful change to happen in yourself, you have to let go and step out and do new things. To make change happen in an organization, you have let things have the freedom to move, the freedom to become something not quite like you dreamed of. To make change happen in an industry you have to be willing to let the idea you had to "change the world" be held, and sometimes molested, by all sorts of organizations.
For Change to be successful, you have to be loose.
The goal here is to "let it all hang out". We are going to be loose. All are welcome, even the retentive types who want everything wrapped up in a nice package with a bow. All I ask is that we be respectful of each other, and let others be heard. Speak up (or write up) and lets have some fun, and learn from each other.
Lets dig into the couch and find some Loose Change!
