UPS has officially acquired the 49 percent interest of Vietnam-based VN Express in the joint delivery venture between the companies, whom initially first partnered in 1994, with VN Express serving at UPS’s authorized agent in Vietnam, prior to establishing a joint stock company in 2010.

Con-way released an update on first quarter trends at Con-way Freight, its less-than-truckload unit, which it said could collectively reduce Freight’s quarterly operating income by roughly $14 million.

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) reported today that trucking volumes showed modest gains in February.
In an effort to pre-inspect truck-hauled cargo between the United States and Canada, the countries last week issued a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Canada’s Ministry of Public Safety and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to launch a truck cargo pre-inspection pilot program in Canada.
