The newest trans-Pacific ocean carrier, Hainan P O Shipping Co., Ltd. (P O Shipping) has expanded its services with a call connecting Oakland with five major ports in China
Freight transportation and logistics services provider Ryder System recently announced it has reached an agreement to acquire the full service lease, contract maintenance, commercial rental and dedicated contract carriage businesses of Fontana, California-based The Scully Companies Inc.
Data published by ACT Research, a provider of data and analysis for trucks and other commercial vehicles, said that November net orders of heavy-duty Class 8 vehicles at 26,268 units were up 38 percent from October.

Truck tonnage was essentially flat in November compared with October, according to data released by the American Trucking Associations. Following a cumulative 2.8 percent increase over September and October, the ATA’s advance seasonally-adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage index was down 0.1 percent in November.
Volumes at the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) and Port of Long Beach (POLB) were solid year-over-year in November and mixed on a sequential basis.
