The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) rose 0.4 percent in July, following a 0.2 increase in June.

In an effort to provide more value-added services to Puerto Rico-based shippers, Crowley Maritime Corporation’s logistics group announced it has acquired Islandwide Air and Ocean.

The number of global manufacturers shipping to the United States inched up from July to August, according to data from Panjiva, an online search engine with detailed information on global suppliers and manufacturers.
