Just as it had prevailed over Hurricane Katrina, the Port of New Orleans seems to have won another epic environmental battle -- the BP oil spill
Class I railroad carrier Norfolk Southern (NS) said it has rolled out a five year goal to reduce its carbon footprint through fuel-savings technology and improvements in operating efficiencies, as well as lower its greenhouse gas emissions per revenue ton-mile 10 percent by 2014 compared with 2009 emissions.

Exports of U.S. goods and services increased 17.7 percent during the first six months of 2010, according to data released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the U.S. Commerce Department.
