In the unlikely event, you have not heard it before, we will repeat it again: the United States Postal Service (USPS) lost money last quarter. Just to clarify, that is in regards to the fiscal third quarter of this year, but it also applies to 21 of the last 23 quarters in which the USPS has recorded a loss, stretching a span of nearly six years of mostly dark times.

With NFL training camps in full swing, it stands to reason that Congress must be replete with football fans, given how it basically has elected to punt on federal transportation funding yet again, with the Senate yesterday signing off on a ten-month bill to keep federal surface transportation funding intact through May 2015 through a nearly $11 billion stopgap measure.
