While we have observed that Southern California ports have gained market share in recent months due to a surge in Asian exports, it is worth noting that the outbound ocean cargo gateways in China are also thriving.
Late last week, the United States Senate voted down a push led by Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) that would have prevented the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gas emissions standards under the Clean Air Act.
Class I railroad carrier Canadian National Railway (CN) recently announced it has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with TSI Terminal Systems, a subsidiary of GCT Container Terminals Inc., which endeavors to enhance service levels for mutual customers and draw greater volumes of traffic over Port Metro Vancouver.

Less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services provider YRC Worldwide Inc. said earlier today that it expects to achieve positive adjusted EBITDA on a consolidated basis and positive operating income for its Regional Transportation unit for the second quarter of this year.
Citing a strengthening North American economy and improving supply/demand balance of freight hauling truck capacity, ACT Research recently said that a continuing rebound of orders and production of commercial vehicles is underway.
