The Agriculture Transportation Coalition is asking its members to share information on ocean carrier practice regarding Entry Summary Declaration
Earlier today, the Surface Transportation Board (STB) held a hearing, entitled “Review of Commodity, Boxcar, and TOFC/COFC Exemptions.” The STB said the objective of the hearing is to review regulatory exemptions for certain types of rail traffic to determine their effectiveness in the marketplace, see whether the rationale behind these exemptions should be revisited, and also if these exemptions should be subject to periodic review.

CEVA logistics has launched a cross-border road freight service in South East Asia, providing an integrated service from Singapore, through Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam to China
In response to customer demand, FedEx subsidiary FedEx Express said this week it is adding new services focused on earlier delivery of freight shipments.
FedEx said that its FedEx subsidiary has officially completed the acquisition of the logistics, distribution, and express businesses of India-based AFL Pvt. Ltd. and its affiliate Unifreight India Pvt. Ltd. The deal was originally announced by FedEx in November.
Data from Panjiva, an online search engine with detailed information on global suppliers and manufacturers, found that the number of United States-bound waterborne shipments increased 17 percent from December to January.
Diesel prices continued to surge, with the price per gallon up 3.9 cents this week to $3.573, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA). On an annual basis, diesel prices are up 74.1 cents.
