Taking steps to expand its extensive logistics services menu for shippers, non asset-based third-party logistics (3PL) services provider Transplace said this week it has joined forces with Chicago-based intermodal marketing company (IMC) Celtic International to “form a leading North American logistics provider,” according to company officials.

The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) was up 0.4 percent from July to August.

The Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recently announced that it no longer plans to proceed with intended plans to accelerate the deadline for screening United States-bound air cargo to December 31, 2011.
