As was the case in July, the August edition of the Institute for Supply Management’s (ISM) Non-Manufacturing Report on Business outperformed its sister report focused on manufacturing.
Following the July announcement that the United States and Mexico had reached a cross-border trucking agreement, a Wall Street Journal report indicated that the Teamsters union has filed a lawsuit against the White House that intends to block the deal.
In its August report, Cass data indicated that shipments at 1.143 were down 3.7 percent compared to July, with shipments topping the 1.0 mark for the 15th straight month since May 2010, when shipments moved above the 1.0 mark for the first time since November 2008.

Yesterday, the President announced that he will address the Nation and unveil his jobs plan on September 8. The pundits are concerned that if his previous suggestions are any indication of what he will offer in this plan, we are in deep trouble.
