Global supply chain and logistics services provider CEVA Logistics recently held its first global Supplier Awards ceremony. CEVA said these awards were launched as “part of its relentless quest for excellence” and are designed to recognize “impeccable execution, commitment, and strategic alignment among” its supplier base. Freight transportation and logistics services provider Pacer International Inc. recently announced that its Pacer Distribution Services (PDS) subsidiary has expanded into the Seattle region by leasing space in Sumner, Washington.

Non-asset based third party logistics (3PL) and transportation services provider Greatwide Logistics Services recently announced that John P. Tague has been named to succeed Leo Suggs as CEO. Suggs will remain in his role as Greatwide chairman, according to company officials. Tague comes to Greatwide from United Airlines, where he served as president and was responsible for all airline management functions. In eight years at United, he served in various roles, including chief operating officer and chief revenue officer.

According to the report, total dollars billed in the first quarter for all study participants—at roughly $1.8 billion—was up 17.1 percent compared to the first quarter of 2010.

The report stated that Deutsche Bahn management is considering restructuring Schenker’s U.S. business but added a withdrawal is more possible. And it added that Schenker management was due to deliver a business update by mid July and Deutsche Bahn executives plan to take a decision on the future of its U.S. business by the end of the year, possibly as early as August.
