Global third-party logistics (3PL) services provider Jacobson Companies said this week it is expanding into Hong Kong with the launch of Jacobson Global Logistics Ltd. (JGL). Jacobson officials said this will serve as the base for which it will expand its Asia-based logistics services. JGL will provide shippers with myriad international logistics services to and from the U.S. and within Asia
Following December’s announcement that it planned to acquire Total Logistic Control, a subsidiary of SUPERVALU and a provider of supply chain services for shippers in the food, beverage, and consumer packaged goods sectors, freight transportation and logistics services provider Ryder System said today the deal is now official.

Third-party logistics (3PL) services provider Saddle Creek Corp. said this week it has acquired San Diego-based ProLog Logistics Inc., a provider of warehousing and fulfillment services.

Freight transportation and logistics services provider Ryder System said it has inked an agreement to acquire Total Logistic Control, a subsidiary of SUPERVALU and a provider of supply chain services for shippers in the food, beverage, and consumer packaged goods sectors.
USA Dry Van Logistics, a national provider of asset-based transportation and third-party logistics focusing on cross-border shipments between the U.S. and Mexico, recently announced it emerged from bankruptcy after filing for it in February. Company officials said that USA Dry Van was successfully able to restructure the business and have the same customer base, employees, lenders, and equipment intact.

Menlo Worldwide Logistics LLC, a third-party logistics (3PL) subsidiary of freight transportation services provider Con-way Inc. announced this week it has expanded its relationship with Dana Holding Corporation, a provider of driveline products, power technologies, and genuine service parts for light and heavy manufacturers.
Following a July announcement stating that ATC Corporation, a provider of logistics and remanufacturing services for the high-tech and automotive services had entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by third-party logistics (3PL) services provider Genco Distribution System for $512.6 million, the deal has now been made official.

A new report from supply chain consultancy Armstrong & Associates Inc. states that United States-based commercial warehousing revenue will hit $50 billion in 2010. The report notes that combined contract and public warehousing revenues are expected to top 2008 levels by 2 percent after a 2009 decline. And it added that the contract and public warehousing market now represents 45 percent of the entire U.S. warehousing market.
