With a 2 cent gain to $2.534 per gallon, the national weekly average price is up for the first time since it increased from $2.904 the week of May 18 to $2.914 the week of May 25.

The average price dropped 4.7 cents to $2.514 per gallon, which now stands at the lowest weekly average price for diesel since July 2009, when it was at $2.542 the week of July 27, 2009, according to EIA data.

The average price per gallon of diesel gasoline fell for the eighth consecutive week, according to data issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. Falling 3.2 cents to $2.782 per gallon, diesel prices have fallen a cumulative 12.7 cents over this period from the week of June 1 through July 20.

This marks the seventh straight weekly drop during which time the average price per gallon has dropped, with the cumulative decline at 9.5 cents. And it also marks the longest period of weekly declines to date in 2015 as well.
