Following a 0.6 cent gain last week, diesel prices are up 0.2 cents this week at $3.85, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA). Prior to prices seeing gains throughout most of the last four weeks, diesel prices were down six straight weeks for a cumulative 22.7 cent decline.

As soon as the price per gallon for diesel eclipsed the $4 per gallon mark a week ago, it went back below $4, with a 4.6 cent decline to $3.964 per gallon, according to data from the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).

When the price per gallon of diesel spiked a full ten cents last week, it still remained below $4 per gallon. But with this week’s 2.3 cent gain to $4.01 per gallon, it is back in territory it has not been in since mid-May, when it hit $4.061 on May 16, according to data from the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
