The BTS said that the May Freight TSI at 120.0 is the new all-time high level, topping November 2013’s 119.4, which was set before the harsh winter weather kicked in. BTS said that after falling to 94.6 in April 2009, the Freight TSI increased a cumulative 26.9 percent in the following 61 months.

The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported this week that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) increased 0.4 percent from March to April (the most recent month for which data is available).

The March Freight TSI at 116.7 is 23.2 percent ahead of April 2009 low point of the recession and 0.8 percent below the all-time high of 117.7 recorded in November 2013, with freight shipments hitting their third-highest level ever.

The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported this week that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) decreased for the second straight month, falling 2.8 percent from December to January.

The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported this week that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) dropped 0.7 percent from September to October, snapping a three-month run of gains.

The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported this week that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) increased 0.3 percent from June to July, following a 0.2 percent decline from May to June.
