The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported this week that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) dropped 0.7 percent from September to October, snapping a three-month run of gains.

The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported this week that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) increased 0.3 percent from June to July, following a 0.2 percent decline from May to June.

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported today that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) increased 1.2 percent from December to January, following a 1.0 percent gain from November to December.

The BTS said that the August Freight TSI at 109.0 is 15.6 percent higher than April 2009’s low point of 94.3 during the recession and is down 4.4 percent from the December 2011 reading of 114.0.

The BTS said that the June Freight TSI at 109.5 is 16.1 percent higher than April 2009’s low point of 94.3 during the recession and is down 3.9 percent from the December 2011 reading of 114.0, which represents the all-time high since BTS first began collecting data in 1990.

The BTS said that the May TSI at 109.6 was unchanged from April and is 16.3 percent higher than April 2009’s low point during the recession.

The Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) dipped 0.8 percent from February to March.

This slight increase comes on the heels of a 3.6 percent decline from December to January. The Freight TSI has seen sequential gains in five of the last six months.
