Following an early October prediction of 2011 holiday sales rising 2.8 percent to $465.6 billion, the NRF is now calling for 2011 to be up 3.8 percent to $469.1 billion. Holiday sales—as defined by the NRF—are sales in the months of November and December.Posted on 12/15 at 01:19 PM

Earlier today, the Department of Commerce announced that U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose by 2.5 percent in the third quarter. This is a good sign but it should not even begin to suggest that happy days are here again.Posted on 10/27 at 12:48 PM
