ATA officials said that seasonally-adjusted tonnage has now shown gains in four of the last five reported months and is up 7.6 percent going back to November 2012.

The ATA reported that seasonally-adjusted (SA) truck tonnage in July—at 118.8 (2000=100)—was flat compared to June, which was up 1.2 percent compared to May, representing the largest month-to-month increase in 2012 year-to-date. SA tonnage was down 1.0 percent in May.

The American Trucking Associations reported today that seasonally-adjusted truck tonnage had a strong month in November, with a 0.3 percent gain over November and a 6 percent annual gain, which marks its biggest annual increase since last June’s 6.5 percent bump.

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) reported today truck tonnage took a step in the right direction, snapping two months of declines, with a 2.8 percent increase in its advance seasonally-adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage index in June.

Truck tonnage is continuing its ride on an up and down road, with a slight decline in March, according to the American Trucking Associations (ATA). The ATA’s advance seasonally-adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage index dropped 0.7 percent in April after increasing a revised 1.9 percent (from1.7 percent) gain in March. This index was down 2.7 percent in February and was up 3.8 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively, in January and December.
