A 10.2 cent weekly hike brings the current price to $4.078 per gallon, following a 4.4 cent increase last week and a 2.5 cent gain the week before. Diesel prices have been up 18 of the last 19 weeks. And on an annual basis, the price per gallon for diesel is up $1.009 per gallon.

March shipments at 1.108 were up 13.8 percent annually and 6.5 percent compared to February’s 1.036, with shipments above for the 1.0 mark for the tenth straight month going back to May 2010’s 1.014 breaking the 1.0 level for the first time since November 20008.

ACT reported that a preliminary reading of heavy-duty Class 8 commercial vehicle net orders for North American markets increased to 29,200 units in March, representing the largest monthly order intake since May 2006.
