Accu-Sort Systems, Booth 2047, introduced the AccuLazr AL5010 laser bar code scanner. The device’s modular design includes a scan head, mounting base, power supply and choice of interface modules. It’s intended for mid-range distance read applications from 5 to 48 inches, depending on bar code size, explained Pratap Chakravarthy, director of marketing.
In addition to flexible connectivity options, the scanner requires no maintenance other than keeping the scanning window clean in dusty environments. “In the event of failure, the scan head is hot-swappable and can be replaced in less than 5 minutes without reconfiguration or realignment,” noted Chakravarthy. “Pressing a button on the scan head uploads parameters from the storage module in the mounting base, and it’s back in operation.”
To further help users track performance over an Ethernet or EtherNet/IP connection, the AL5010 is also compatible with the company’s FAST Monitor remote monitoring and diagnostics system.
