Air cargo security provider moves into Sea-Tac

Global will continue to expand operations in the U.S. as Emirates continues to open new gateways

As an exclusive provider of aviation security management services to Emirates Airlines, Global Elite Group Inc., will open an office at the Seattle-Tacoma International airport.

Global will continue to expand operations in the U.S. as Emirates continues to open new gateways.

The Pacific Northwest is poised to take advantage of the growing demand for air cargo service to and from Asia, said analysts.

The office at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport follows Global’s expansion last month at DFW Airport. Operations begin on March 1, 2012.

The moves come after Emirates Airline & Group announced its expansion with six new gateways in the U.S. in order to deliver greater access to the airline’s vast global network.

Global Elite will have an office on-site at the airport which will be open 24-hours a day to service the entire security needs of Emirates Airlines. Global has appointed, Kim Witter, as the operations manager at the facility which will have over 15 trained security professionals managing every aspect of security and working alongside the Emirates and TSA agents.

“We are an extra layer of protection to in-house personnel and government security workers. All our agents are TSA trained and certified to maintain seamless operations. We also deploy access control and surveillance security with built-in analytics to assist in the overall security process,” said Will McGuire, President and CEO for Global Elite Group Inc., based in Garden City, New York.


Global will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day security operations, working and meeting with the airport authority and other government and regulatory officials. “When one of our airways clients moves into a new region and launch flight services, we perform all the regulatory security functions for the carrier,” explains Lucia Oswald, Vice President of Operations for Global Elite.

For November, which is the most recent month for which data is available, the SCI came in at -3.2. While this is still entrenched in negative territory, it represents an improvement over October and September, which were -5.5 and -6.6, respectively.

The challenge for air cargo operators to fill capacity, and the confidence to add capacity, remain the same as the demand curve for air freight services recovers.

For the fourth quarter of 2014, UPS said it anticipates adjusted diluted earnings per share of roughly $1.25, with full-year 2014 adjusted diluted earnings per share at $4.75, which represents a 3.9 percent annual gain over 2013’s adjusted earnings per share of $4.57, with full-year 2014 diluted earnings pegged at around $3.28 per share, which is 28.9 percent below 2013’s $4.61.
