CeMAT teams up with Empack and Label&Print to offer extended coverage of packaging technology

Organizers of all three trade shows expect significant synergies from new partnership.

With the incorporation of the two trade shows Empack and Label&Print, Deutsche Messe AG plans to offer more comprehensive coverage of packaging systems at CeMAT 2016.

Representatives of Deutsche Messe have signed a wide-ranging strategic partnership with Easyfairs Deutschland GmbH, which means that Empack and Label&Print will in future be staged under the aegis of CeMAT – starting with next year’s show, which runs from May 31 to June 3, 2016 in Hannover. The organizers expect the new format to attract around 200 exhibitors specializing in packaging systems and technology, with 10,000 square meters allocated to their displays.

“This new collaboration has made it possible to expand our coverage of packaging systems at CeMAT, which remains the world’s leading trade fair for intralogistics. As a result we will reach additional exhibitor and visitor groups”, said Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president at Deutsche Messe AG, at a press conference on 28 January in Hamburg. “By incorporating these two packaging industry shows into CeMAT we can offer visitors a clear added value. This cooperation is good news for everyone – a classic win-win situation.”

The Easyfairs Group is renowned for its special expertise in the packaging systems sector. Easyfairs now has Europe’s fastest-growing network of trade show brands for the packaging industry, with 27 trade fairs in ten countries, some 35,000 visitors and 2,500 exhibitors.

Empack is one of the longest running Easyfairs trade show brands, specializing in packaging technology. A large proportion of its exhibitors are suppliers of packaging lines and machinery. Label&Print is a new brand launched in 2014, with the focus on printing and finishing technologies.

“The collaboration with Deutsche Messe opens up new opportunities for our customers to showcase their products and expertise at a successful and well-established international trade fair for the intralogistics industry,” added Martina Hofmann, event director for the German-speaking European countries at Easyfairs Deutschland GmbH. “As transport packaging, storage and security, as well as general intralogistical processes are absolutely central to the packaging industry and what it does, the new venture enables both parties to benefit from synergies on many levels.”

Empack and Label&Print will also take place in Hannover in the intervening odd-numbered years, when they will be staged as stand-alone events.
