Navis announced that George A. Kohlrieser, an internationally recognized expert on leadership, will present a general session at Navis World, taking place March 29-April 1, 2015 at the Intercontinental San Francisco Hotel.
Navis World is one of the industry’s premier conferences, providing terminal operators with valuable insights to optimize the movement of containers through their facilities with the use of advanced technology and other innovations.
Kohlrieser is Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior at IMD (the International Institute for Management Development), a well-respected hostage negotiator, and an award-winning author. As an organizational and clinical psychologist, Kohlrieser’s research, education and consulting activities are focused on high-performance leadership and teamwork, conflict resolution, dialogue and negotiation, change management, and personal and professional development.
Kohlrieser’s Navis World session, “Leading at the Edge: How to Get the Best Out of Yourself and Others,” will encourage attendees to overcome difficult barriers, go beyond unbearable pressures and persevere in order to achieve positive results. This insights-driven session will address critical strategies that leaders need to employ to ensure success for themselves, their teams and organizations at large.
“A container terminal operation as a critical part of the global supply chain is a high-pressure business that is facing new and evolving challenges. As a result, leaders must achieve a delicate balance of making tough decisions while inspiring and motivating their teams,” said Kohlrieser. “Emotional Intelligence and Secure Base mantras are essential to managing people, teams and companies successfully during challenging times.
In addition to the general session, Kohlrieser will also conduct a workshop for terminal executives, which will include exercises in handling real world scenarios.
