Lift Trucks: Crown offers one-year warranty on pre-owned forklifts

The company is introducing a one-year warranty with no hour limits on all major components of an Encore lift truck.

When Crown Equipment Corporation, one of the world’s leading forklift manufacturers, began remanufacturing forklifts 10 years ago, it did so based on the principle that its Encore line of renewed lift trucks should be the best in the industry. In recognition of this commitment, the company is introducing a one-year warranty with no hour limits on all major components of an Encore lift truck. The Encore warranty is currently the most comprehensive among all other major pre-owned forklift brands.

The most commonly available Encore models are rider pallet trucks, stockpickers, counterbalanced forklifts and narrow-aisle reach trucks. Throughout the past 10 years, Crown’s customers have used thousands of Encore lift trucks as key components of their fleet and evidence of their sustainability commitment in their warehouses.

According to Bob Beck, vice president of U.S. operations for Anixter, a leading global distributor of communication and security products, electrical and electronic wire and cable, fasteners and other small parts, the Crown Encore program complements Anixter’s corporate sustainability program, “A Sustainable Path,” which seeks to balance social responsibility with return on investment.

“The Crown Encore program has been a strategic fit for our material handling needs in Anixter’s medium to small facilities where new equipment can be cost prohibitive,” he said. “Our Encore trucks are completely remanufactured, look new and provide the same dependable service we have come to expect from new Crown units.”

Crown has a system to accept, evaluate and ecycle 99 percent of used forklift components, up to and including complete remanufacture. The Encore remanufacturing process begins with Crown technicians stripping each forklift down to its frame and meticulously inspecting, repairing and/or replacing every part that goes back into the forklift. Remanufacturing includes electrical, structural, drive units, hydraulics, brakes and exterior components. To ensure a safe, responsive ride for operators, all drive tires, load wheels and bearings are replaced on every Encore truck. Any unusable components are recycled. Thanks to Crown’s vertically integrated manufacturing process, the company has immediate access to the needed parts to quickly and efficiently remanufacture a forklift. The finishing process includes new paint, covers and consoles, as well as new control handles and labels/decals.

Once the remanufacturing process is completed, the Encore lift truck goes through an extensive operational and safety inspection before delivery. Any service and support needs are managed by Crown’s nationwide network of branches and dealers, which outfit all Encore trucks with the same Crown Integrity Parts that are used in new Crown lift trucks.
