Suisan deploys topVOX’s voice solution

The recent deployment of a voice-directed picking solution from topVOX (Booth 3573) at Suisan, a Hawaiian food service distributor, is a good indicator of the advantages of the vendor’s “speaker-indepedent” voice technology, Marceline Absil, VP of marketing and sales, said at Wednesday press conference at the company’s booth.

The topVOX Lydia solution was implemented in Suisan’s 53,000-square-foot refrigerated warehouse in Hilo, Hawaii, last year, helping bring a 30% increase in fulfillment accuracy. Additonally, because the Lydia solution doesn’t need to “learn” each voice or language of its users, the system sped deployment for Suisan, which has five languages spoken by its order selectors.

“The deployment was up to speed quickly because there was no need to create templates to train the system to recognize each user,” Absil said. “That not necessary with our speaker-idependent technology.”

In another announcement related to ease of deployment, Absil said topVOX’s Lydia Connector 7.0 has achieved SAP-certified integration with the SAP NetWeaver technology platform. Lydia Connector has been proven to integrate with dynpro-based SAP applications without any need for middleware, Absil added.
