Minneapolis, Minn.-based global logistics services provider and freight forwarder C.H. Robinson recently announced it has acquired Pescara, Italy-based Dema Service S.p.A. a provider of European road transportation services, including truck brokerage, freight forwarding, and logistics.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Privately-owned Dema Service has around 100 employees and offices in Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic. CHRW officials said Dema Service will be integrated into the company’s European Surface Transportation division and Navisphere, its single global technology platform. Dema was founded in 2004.
“The acquisition of Dema Service is an exciting milestone for C.H. Robinson and will strengthen our existing footprint in Italy, one of the largest road transportation markets in Europe,” said Jeroen Eijsink, President of Europe for C.H. Robinson, in a statement. “We are eager to work with Dema Service’s customers to offer our full suite of logistics services to help improve their supply chains.”
This marks CHRW’s second acquisition in 2019. In March of this year, it acquired Madrid, Spain-based international ocean and air freight forwarder Space Cargo, in an effort designed to further expand its Global Forwarding business segment.
