The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline headed down for the third straight week, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
This week’s average—at $3.010—fell 2.7 cents and is now at $3.010. This follows a 2.7-cent decrease last week to $3.037, which was preceded by a 1.5-cent decline to $3.064 for the week ending January 13.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is up 4.5 cents, trailing the last two weeks, at 7.2 cents and 8.8 cents, respectively.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil is currently trading at $53.61per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
